Quarantine Stay at home illustration

This reminds me of those destressing coloring books.

Coloring is really therapeutic.
Keeps your mind off some things.

Im an introvert but i do find pleasure in going to new places or eating out with some good friends and family.

It is important to be always updated on the outside but if things get alittle too much (stressful) information then we can divert to other activities.
Others cope by doing exercises, watching movies/series, painting (me), blogging, cooking and tiktoking. (M2m)
Finding our positive vibes in this virus ridden world.

Just a gentle reminder to better be safe at home than sorry.

Take care everyone and God bless us all.

Laundry bottle recycled to organizer (D.I.Y)

You can see alot of tutorials and DIY in youtube and facebook.

Reason why I dont throw away the big laundry bottles. Not only bec I am stingy but I like to tinker and paint if bored or art frenzied.

Sadly I dont have gesso (white primer). The acrylic paints and markers would have stayed well. Anyways I usually put satin varnish to seal the colors.

If you don't have the proper cutting materials it is hard to contour the curves using just a regular cutter. It shortened my blade and broke 2 times.
I cut my finger along the process too. Don't worry it was just a tiny scratch not life threatening. Not a kid friendly task if you ask me.

Usually you soften the edges by using a lighter. But I am not a smoker and the flatmate I usually borrow from is on vacation.

Probably first and last time I'm making this.

Fruits basket a non new year painting

I was looking for an inspiration to paint.

It was right in front of me.

I did some photography shoots.

A few days later...

The spirit of laziness left and I began to paint. 🎨

I was almost tempted to put a face somewhere in the painting. 😅🤭🙈

Modern Mona Lisa (acrylics on watercolorpaper)

We have this daily challenge at work.
So I thought to make something like this. But it turned out they wanted a wacky remake not an exact painting.

It was a quick paint. I thought it was done but then the one I painted said her chin was too long and her face was fat. Lol

I gave this to her as a present.

So this was my entry for that said challenge.

A portrait birthday gift for my brother

Some artists draw using the grid method. Thus they can perfectly copy a certain picture.
For me I like to do it in freehand but still use the guidelines for anatomy.

See the strong anime cartoony influence. It never goes away.

After that I then put in a collage app to compare the difference. 🤭

Looks kinda realistic now.

I had fun shading the skin. But I need a reallllllyy fine brush to do the details right.
Running low now with white acrylic paint.

A lil lighting tweak at an editting app did the job.

Garden of Annalyn (acrylics on canvas)

So?!
Here we go again.
I originally just wanted to paint a garden scene.
But I figured I wanted a silhouette of a lady wearing a hat or some lady spreading her arms.  It kinda felt empty for nature to be without a human.

But I found none to my liking.
And i tried searching in my album.  None.
I then stalked the pictures of my EX.

Just kidding
🤭

I looked for my cousin's fb albums and
Then to my sister's fb album.

Finally saw something that'll fit the background.

I dunno when can I just make a scenic painting without getting distractions.

Anyways turned out great. This will be my gift to her.

To be coated with satin varnish.

Sweet dreams my lil one (acrylics on canvas)

I was planning to only do background paintings as that is not my strong point. As I looked at my portfolio it was all anime style and realistic portraits.

My concept or plan was to do only dream catchers in random size and design.

I wanted to add quotes but was stuck with words Sweet dreams.

But then it looked like a book cover title.
The Illustrator in me kicked in.
Thus made me search a silhouette of a sleeping child. I found none with my desired angle. So I browse through my gallery and found a sleeping picture of my daughter. (Who knew it would come in handy?!)

And so it made me do this.

Yeah I also need to work on my calligraphy skills. Hehe
